International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event held on August 31st each year. Its purpose is to raise awareness of overdoses, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths, and acknowledge the grief felt by families and friends.
In honor of Overdose Awareness Day, several organizations and support groups are hosting free events.
Glendale Heights: Glendale Heights Police Department presents Celebrate Life through Art and Music to raise awareness about overdose and prevention in the community. The event will take place on August 30th from 6-9pm. See the event flyer for details.
